The surrounding area can be divided into 7 separate areas:

1. Little Harbor (new development)
2. The North Shore (establish waterfront neighborhood)
3. The South Shore (established waterfront neighborhood)
4. The Lost River Preserve (subdivision)
5. Cockroach Bay National Preserve (State Park)
6. Agricultural Land
7. East of Little Harbor (track housing developments)
